he outfits the charja-cola™ with a teat so it resembles as a baby bottle for the rotom. he's not sure if a rotom can even consume food since he hasn't owned a baby one before, but he's willing to try anything to keep the hellish noises from happening again.
had the last round not damaged kyle's ear drums, this round definitely would. both of kyle's mightyena would howl back at the rotom's
uproar, though all of this would stop the moment kyle holds his hand over its body and direct its mouth to the charja-cola™ baby bottle.
it stops the racket for now.
there's a sigh of relief coming from kyle before he enters a toy store in a rush.
"tell me where the robot dogs are, stat!" he shouts, volume louder than intended with his damaged hearing.
as if on cue, the rotom starts another bout of its
uproar. the attendant quickly realizes the severity of the problem and rushes at the back of their shop while kyle attempts to coo the rotom back to normalcy. he clicks his tongue when he realizes that the charja-cola™ was all finished up with how tasty and refreshing it is.
"oh, no."with its newfound powers, the rotom starts to shoot up against kyle's hold and bounces around the room like the ghost that it is. the mightyenas watch it, joining along with their own dog yells as noise starts to fill up the store. at least it takes up some of the attention away from the flickering lights and malfunctioning toys.
it possesses one electronic toy after another until kyle puts a stop on things.
"embargo, hotel!" the move forces the rotom away of one, where it catapults out of it and ricochets from the ceiling and back to the floor by kyle's feet, where it momentarily stops and starts another uproar from its cries.
"oh, no. oh, no. oh, no. oh, no..." he then sees the shop's attendant roll back in.
"oh, yes!" he hands his credit card at him and promptly takes the robot dog.
he snaps for his mightyena to stop its embargo and presents the toy in front of the rotom. it stops its cries for the first time in forever when it enters it. the led of the robot dog lights up and it comes to life, moving fluidly more than what it was supposed to do.
perhaps it had too much life on it.
charja-cola™ has given it too much liberties in its powers.
before it can run away, kyle puts it on the leash given to him by the judge. on an actual solid object, at least he has the ability to stop it from going around now.
eventually, it tires out from doing its own thing and then sees both mightyenas staring down at him with their tails wagging. the baby rotom does what babies do and starts to copy mannerisms from the things it sees, which were the mightyena in this case.
robot dog wags its tail just in time for people to start trickling in, curious about the uproar the rotom had caused. the shopkeeper starts to widen his eye at the trickle when most of the visitors ogle the rotom-powered robot dog, who manages to act like a real-life dog in this form.
"we'll call it rotom- dog forme!" kyle announces, his voice still louder due to his difficulty in hearing.
he hands the leash over to the shopkeeper and motions his hands for his mightyena to go stand beside rotom-dog. he takes his audience's attention with a whistle and makes a show of it.
"sit!"one after the other, the mightyena performs the trick. the rotom, who had been following the mightyena's movements, follows suit.
"roll over!"the same thing happens.
"speak!"one mightyena barks loudly, and the other one follows. without vocal chords to express itself, the rotom-dog is unable to do it besides a repeated musical note. stops the
uproars from it too!
"bite!"he offers his forearm for his pokemon. the pokemon obviously holds back against their trainer with their moves, with their teeth not even puncturing the skin a bit. when it's the rotom's turn, kyle crouches so it doesn't pull the shopkeeper. since robot dogs don't have mouths, it is unable to hurt.
standing up, he straightens his back and shows his face to his audience again.
"rotom dog- all dog, minus the actual barking and biting! buy your robot dogs now! rotom not included." he takes a bow after the performance, which the people somehow clap to.
he tugs the shopkeeper towards the back afterwards, who awkwardly gives kyle his credit card back.
"do you want to keep the rotom?" he asks, to which there's an actual pause from the other person before the awkward nod.
his motive is clear since kyle knows his slateport neighborhood of npcs really well for living in it as its police officer for a long while. having inherited a shop meant that he wasn't able to go out on a pokemon journey, and that meant that he'll take every opportunity to mingle with them. the rotom wasn't an outlier.
"here's the deal-- it helps you get the people in your shop and you get them some food, shelter and support. good? good."
he pats the shopkeeper at the back with a strong slap before immediately heading out. kyle doesn't particularly like crowds, so leaving the rotom with him was the ending of this story. at least he has the leash to control it before the baby rotom can learn how to remove itself from electronics by itself.
tl;dr
- kyle discovers the rare rotom-dog forme and leaves it with the toy shop owner
